Sweet little baby G. She was surrounded in pink, and I have a feeling it fits her little personality perfectly.
I just had a sweet session with a little newborn girl, and since I am a traveling photographer (working on my home studio now), I rely on the light coming into the client’s home. Sometimes, the light is just not there. Like, there would be some light, but then it’s pouring down rain outside, and any hope for good lighting is dashed. Needless to say, I’m in the market for some portable lights so these situations don’t sneak up on me anymore.
While I am in love with the minimalist, clean SOOC, low processed images out there, sometimes the magic has to happen when you get back home. Example above. The first image is the original, SOOC, RAW (and I mean that in all aspects of the term) photo. I promise you, I am a photographer. I know this looks rough. The second image is after I ran it through LR. The last image is the final edit after PS. It’s obvious that this was highly processed, but I love the result. I don’t even mind some of the grain. In the end, you see the subjects in all their sweetness - big brother LOVES his little sister. In the end, I won the fight with low light.

Baby season! The past few weeks have been full of maternity and/or newborn sessions. I’m not done, either. There are more on the schedule! I can’t say I mind - these little ones are so sweet. It’s been a busy few weeks photographing the tiny folk. Enjoy!
“B” Family {Baby+Family}
I had the fun of photographing baby S when he was just a few days old. What a difference a year makes! He is on the go, full of energy and curiosity, and SO cute. His cousin and aunt tagged along, so we were able to get a few of them together. I had a great time catching up with S’ mom, comparing mommyhood stories. That is one great thing about this job - I usually leave feeling like I spent an hour or so with friends! I’m looking forward to catching up with this beautiful family again in the future.

Danielle and Justin {Maternity}
I remember my maternity session last year when I was expecting my little boy, and I was a sweaty, stripe wearing mess. Danielle is one of the prettiest pregnant women I’ve ever seen! It helps that she has those long legs to offset her little bump. Justin and Danielle were fun and laid back, and we had a great session at the Raleigh Little Theater Rose Garden in Raleigh. Here are a few of my favorites. I’m already looking forward to little Madison’s newborn session!

Getzelmania!
Our friend Stephen Getzelmann passed away unexpectedly after a courageous battle with a Strep A infection on December 5, 2011 at the UNC Burn Center.
Tomorrow, May 19, 2012, friends and family will be hosting a 5k (Run or Walk) in Stephen’s honor. The recreational 5k will take place in the Breckenridge subdivision of Morrisville at 9am. (Note: This is not an officially sanctioned competitive 5k.)
There will be activities for the entire family, including face painting, games, a 100-yard dash, and a children’s bounce house!
There are great raffle prizes, including a free photo session with AMP. Come out and run, walk, or buy some raffle tickets and enjoy the beautiful weather we are supposed to have!
